World Diabetes Day Celebration – 2023

Niramaya College of Nursing, Bantakal, Udupi, a unit of Vishnumoorthy Hayavadana Swami Education Society® under Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt, successfully organized World Diabetes Day on November 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., in association with NCAHS, SMVITM, SVH PUC NSS Unit, Lions Club Shirva, and Gram Panchayat Innanje.

The program was conducted with the theme “Access to Diabetes Care”, emphasizing the importance of awareness, early detection, and accessible management of diabetes.

The event commenced with divine blessings from Shri Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, Sode Shree Vadiraja Mutt, Udupi. The program was graced by distinguished chief guests, Dr. Leena Sequiera, Principal, Manipal School of Nursing, Manipal, and Mrs. Malini Shetty, President, Gram Panchayat Innanje.

The Guests of Honour included Shri Rathnakumar, Hon’ble Secretary, SVH Education Society, Dr. B. Rajashekar, Former Dean, MCHP Manipal, Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, SMVITM Bantakal, and Dr. Naveen Ballal, Principal, NCAHS Bantakal.

The inauguration took place at the Niramaya Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), Bantakal, followed by a walkathon from NIHS to Shankarpura Junction aimed at spreading awareness about diabetes prevention and management. The program continued with a health education session at Hayavadana Sabhabhavana, SVH Primary School, Innanje, where valuable information on diabetes care was shared with the community.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and the public, making it a meaningful initiative toward promoting community health awareness.

The program was led by Dr. Flavia Castelino, Principal, NCON (President of the event), and coordinated by Ms. Roshani Rodrigues, Vice Principal, NCON (Organizing Secretary).
