Lamp Lighting & Oath-Taking Ceremony 2025–2029
Niraamaya College of Nursing, Bantakal, conducted the Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony for the III Batch of B.Sc. Nursing (2025–2029) on 6 February 2026, marking a significant milestone in the students' journey into the nursing profession.
The ceremony was blessed by His Holiness Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, President, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, Udupi. Dr. Suja Karkada, Professor & Principal, CSI Lombard Memorial College of Nursing, Udupi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. N. Bhaskara Acharya, Medical Director, Dr. N. R. Acharya Memorial Hospital, Koteshwara, was the Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, CEO, SODE Group of Institutions, Dr. Naveen M. Ballal, Director, NIHS, and Ms. Roshani Rodrigues, Professor & Principal, Niraamaya College of Nursing.
The ceremony began with the symbolic lamp lighting and a tribute to the legacy of Florence Nightingale, followed by an inspiring portrayal of the "Lady with the Lamp" by a student. The nursing oath was then solemnly administered, with students pledging to uphold the highest standards of compassion, ethics, and professional excellence in patient care.
The event concluded with words of encouragement from the dignitaries, inspiring the budding nurses to embrace their profession with dedication, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to compassionate healthcare.
