Niraamaya Leads Beach Cleaning Drive at Mattu Beach
Niraamaya Institute of Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Youth Red Cross, Student Nurses Association (SNA), and Lions Club Katpadi, organized a beach cleaning drive at Mattu Beach on 12 July 2025 to promote environmental conservation and create awareness about marine pollution.
A total of 53 students actively participated in the initiative, removing plastic waste and other non-biodegradable materials from the shoreline, demonstrating their commitment to environmental sustainability and community service.
The event was graced by Ln. Prakash Poojary, President, Lions Club Katpadi; Ln. Roshan D'Silva, Zone Chairperson; Ln. Jagadish Kamath, Lions Club Member; Mr. Shivashankar B. Pai, Principal; and Ms. Roshani Rodrigues, Principal, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute.
The program was compered by Ms. Vinisha, while Mr. Likith delivered the vote of thanks. The initiative concluded successfully, reinforcing the importance of collective action in protecting the environment and fostering social responsibility among future healthcare professionals.
