Awareness Programme on Anti-Ragging and the POSH Act

Niraamaya College of Nursing organized an Awareness Programme on Anti-Ragging and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act on 31 January 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Admin Block, SMVITM, to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment.

The programme featured an informative session on anti-ragging, highlighting its consequences, legal implications, and the shared responsibility of students in maintaining discipline and mutual respect on campus. This was followed by a session on the POSH Act, delivered by Mr. Rayan Fernandes, who explained the objectives of the Act, forms of sexual harassment, grievance redressal mechanisms, and the importance of ensuring dignity and safety in educational institutions.

The interactive session encouraged active participation and enhanced awareness about students’ rights and responsibilities. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to fostering an ethical, inclusive, and harassment-free campus for all.
